White River Valley has received a planning grant for the 2019-2020 school year. Regional Opportunity Initiatives, Inc., (ROI) will fund and assist a third cohort of school districts during the 2019-20 school year to engage in a 10-month design thinking process to better align PK-12 curricular and programmatic offerings with the education and workforce needs of their communities. As we finish the 6th week of school, you may have heard about the exciting opportunity that White River Valley Schools has been given through a planning grant provided by the Regional Opportunities Initiative (ROI). The planning grant provides financing, training, mentoring, and guidance during the 2019-20 school year that will engage administration and staff in a 10-month design thinking process to better align PK-12 curricular and programmatic offerings with the education and workforce needs of the community.
WOW! That's a mouthful. So what exactly does that mean? Well, this means a couple things. First, we are going to have the opportunity to get into the community and talk to you all about what we are doing well and areas that you think we can improve on here at White River Valley. We want to hear what you would like to see from our course offerings and how we can improve your child's education. This also means we have been given an opportunity to tour schools throughout the state, region, and country to identify best practices that other students and schools are experience and bring them back her to implement at WRV!
Our Design Team (Teachers and Administrators from all three buildings) have put in numerous hours with weekly meetings to put in place a process to get into the community and get the information that you think we need to know! Be on the lookout for our team members and tell us how we're doing at WRV!
